After purchasing a Boston Globe this morning to read about the Celtics championship, I found a pleasant surprise in the Food & Arts section: A kind review of my show at Alpha Gallery written by Cate McQuaid. You can find the article online via the link below.

Thanks to Alpha Gallery for including me in their annual New Talent show. The opening is on Saturday June 7th from 3-5pm and the show will hang until the 2nd of July. If you're in Boston swing by Newbury Street and check it out... The show includes three other artists, all of whom happen to be rather good friends; Abe Storer, Adrienne Rae Ginter and Clint Baclawski.

Just updated the Recent Works gallery with a fresh batch of work! The past few months have been amazingly busy and extremely productive. In fact, I've never made so many paintings in such a short time... I'm currently in the midst of switching to a much smaller studio. Quite anxious to get settled in and back to painting.

New Paintings! I've added some recent Still Life works, as well as a few pieces from a new series I've been working on over the past few months. Its roots lie within the previous paintings I've made this past year: Literally a reassessment of my "Discovery" series after the exploration I endured this Summer.
It is quite a breath of fresh air to reexamine some familiar subject matter...
News Years Resolution = More Frequent Updates. Happy Holidays to all!

After a brief break from painting (as well as updating my website... sorry) I spent the Summer focusing on a series of work inspired by a trip I took last May. Although I resided in the Northwest for a point in time and made several trips down the West coast, I never ventured as far south as LA. It's safe to say that the area had quite an impact on me this past Spring. A rather foreign place, and quite strange in my eyes. However, I've learned that painting a subject of little or no personal connection can provide you with the freedom needed to truly explore within a painting. By focusing on formal elements, like mood and color, I felt entirely liberated to let my paint describe something that I couldn't fully understand. The series entitled "Disconnection" can be found in the Recent Works gallery.

Well the Spring seems to have FINALLY arrived here in Boston, and it sure was worth the wait. After cleaning out the studio I have a bunch of new paintings and drawings posted.
Most of the new work focuses on the idea of disconnect, primarily between individuals and their basic surroundings. After analyzing many of my personal connections while painting my Childhood series, I soon became interested in what other people couldn't see or connect with in these same images. The series is entitled "Discovery" and can be found in the Recent Works gallery.
My recent project has also involved reconsidering the formal ideas of space, mood, color and paint quality. Quite a plethora of things to tackle, I know. Luckily this summer will be dedicated to more of the same...
